[Baba is Barbarian]

Before diving into this week’s progress, I want to share an interesting video someone sent me.

Using Baba is You, they created Treasure 'n Trio.

As someone who thoroughly enjoyed Baba is You, I found it quite entertaining.

 

 

Changing the topic, here’s what I worked on this week.

[Goblin Miners]

The main monsters in World 8 are the Goblin Miners.

 

 


[Goblin Miner]

  • Tracks the player within its range.
  • Avoids spikes when moving.
  • Drops the tool it was holding when it dies, as long as its tile is empty and hasn’t exploded.

 

 

Additionally, I developed a new object: the Pickaxe. 

Initially, I hadn’t planned on including it, but I thought it would be a fun addition.


[Pickaxe]

  • Can destroy any object except walls.
  • Disappears after breaking three objects.

 

 

Lastly, while it wasn’t featured separately, the Tall Torch seen in the video is also a puzzle object.

[Tall Torch]

  • Can be pushed by thieves and mages.
  • Warriors can destroy it.
  • A destroyed Tall Torch becomes a regular Torch, which then has a limited lifespan.

 

While there are still some bugs and fine details to work out, all the necessary elements for level design are now complete.

Starting next week, I plan to fully dive into designing the levels.
