[The Skeleton Trio & Miscellaneous]

Previous story: After participating in the Next Fest, I’ve continued developing the game.

[World 9: The Castle]

The final world takes place in a castle.

The world’s signature enemies, The Skeleton Trio, were designed as evil versions of the protagonist trio.

Instead of countering specific characters, I focused on emphasizing their individual traits freely.

In addition to them, the world features puzzle elements such as boulder traps and gatekeeper monsters.

And the initial design for 20 levels has been completed already.

[Various Visuals & Effects]

First, the teleportation effect has been revised.

In fact, the previous effect used in the demo version was a temporary one with only minimal visuals.

However, simplicity is best—the previous version had outstanding visibility.

So I'm carefully working on adding better visuals without compromising that clarity

Added a time-rewinding effect when using the undo function.

The lore is that a wizard is rewinding time. The idea is simply part of the lore, so the undo feature works just fine even without a wizard.

Added an effect that displays the level name at the start of each stage.

Since the level names often contain hints, this was a pretty important addition.

The level clear effect has also been improved.

The previous version was a bit plain, but now it provides a better sense of achievement (or at least, I think so).

The rough and noisy sound effects have also been adjusted, though that can't be demonstrated here.

Other visual updates include things like gradient effects in levels, character sprite adjustments, and character color corrections.

[Treasure Showcase]

This feature lets you review the treasures you've collected so far.

Each treasure comes with flavor text.

The planning and basic functionality were completed a long time ago, but it had been left untouched for a while.

Now that the initial level design is done, I’m updating it with visual effects and integrating it into the latest code.

On a side note, here’s how it looked before the recent updates.

Originally, the background for the treasure showcase screen was inside a tent, but after coming up with the current design, I decided to remove the tent.

Maybe I was the only one who even saw it as the inside of a tent.

[Upcoming Work]

Since all the necessary mechanics for level design are complete, I’ll keep working on enhancing the game's visuals.

I plan to add cutscenes for the game intro and character unlock sequences, among others.

Hopefully, I’ll be able to release a new trailer showcasing the updated visuals soon.
